hello@rothkoandfrost.com
Design your own guitar headstock decals with Rothko and Frost. Whether you're a luthier building a brand, a guitar company ordering in bulk, or a player who wants a one-off custom look, we'll turn your artwork into professional-quality waterslide transfers.
Upload your logo, text, signature or complete design and we'll print it on ultra-thin waterslide film using high-resolution techniques with opaque metallic inks, including gold and silver. Once applied and sealed under lacquer, the decal edges vanish, leaving a smooth painted-on finish that looks like it was printed at the factory.
We offer decals shaped for Stratocaster, Telecaster, Gibson, bass and other headstock shapes, plus fully custom sizes if you've got an unusual outline. Each order includes two decals so you've got a spare for the first application attempt. For bulk runs, contact us for a quote: we work with builders and brands on multi-decal orders regularly, and pricing improves with volume.
If you've not applied a waterslide decal before, our application guide walks through the process. The short version: trim, soak, slide, position, dry, then lacquer over.

Big hat off to the Rothko & Frost team. I’ve used them before and honestly they supply the best decals for guitar headstocks I have ever used. They’re ultra thin and surprisingly more durable than you’d think. Very easy to apply and always come with a how to guide. So if you’re wanting to update a headstock and struggling with who to use. These are your people and they have the products to do what you need. Also just pop them an email, I have before and again very friendly and informative.
Perfect match for the restoration of a 73 Telecaster. The guitar was in a basement flood and the neck needed to be completely refinished. The decal fit perfectly and looks great! Thank you.
After reading up on waterslides I wasn't too confident going into this. I have carpal tunnel and working with small and delicate things can be challenging at times. I figured putting this on would be nearly impossible for me. On top of that, they also state that theirs are more finicky than others...Well, I didn't have a single issue and nailed it on the first attempt. Cutting the decal off of the sheet was more difficult for me than installing it. Perfect! Looks like it was done by Fender.
It Limes really well after I mixed it in the resin
Well made, excellent quality and usability. Highly rdended
For many years now,Rothko and Frost have enjoyed the well-earned reputation as being the premier makers of completely accurate high quality reproductions offender headstock stickers. What happened to you guys? Did you get spooked by Fender's ridiculous cease and desist campaign? Even the samples on your website don't look right anymore. I took a chance because of your stellar reputation but the decals you sent me are comically bad. I would never use them on my prized 62' Strat. It's very sad.
High quality and well documented. I used Inkscape and Affinity to create the artwork. I had to refinish a Yamaha bass and these helped immensely.

its a good way to do small inlays, but some areas dont have mother of pearl just the backer. I have to work around that.
