Celluloid Sheets & Veneers: Pearloid, Tortoiseshell & Ivory
Genuine celluloid (cellulose nitrate) sheets and veneers from Incudo — the classic thermoplastic prized by luthiers, pen makers, knife makers, restorers and craftspeople for its unmistakable lustre and vintage character.
We stock around 50 celluloid products in finishes including white, cream and coloured pearloid, tortoiseshell in multiple shades, tiger shell, abalone pattern, plain colours and multi-ply layups. Available as full sheets (up to 1600x700mm), smaller cut pieces, and ultra-thin veneers from 0.17mm for wrapping and laminating.
Celluloid is the original material used for guitar pickguards, binding and decorative inlays since the early 20th century. It's also widely used for pen barrel wrapping, vintage radio and clock restoration, and decorative crafts. Note: celluloid is flammable — work with sharp tools rather than heat, and store away from open flames.
